Elon Musk Predicts AI Will Power Huge Economic Boom
Elon Musk – xAI, the artificial intelligence startup founded by Elon Musk, has revealed ambitious new plans following the launch of Grok 4, its latest AI model. During a livestream on X (formerly Twitter), the team confirmed that Grok 4 is based on its sixth foundation model, and a more advanced seventh version is already in training.
Grok’s Vision Upgrade & Real-World Integration
The upcoming model, expected within a few weeks, will address Grok’s current “weakness on the vision side.” Musk dropped a bombshell during the livestream, announcing that Grok will soon interact with the real world via Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus.
Additionally, Grok is set to be integrated into Tesla vehicles “next week at the latest”, enabling real-world validation of AI-generated theories—an innovative leap beyond traditional chatbot functions.
“New Physics” and Economic Transformation?
Musk didn’t hold back on futuristic predictions. He claimed that Grok could “discover new technologies” by the end of the year and even “new physics” by next year. He also suggested that AI could expand the global economy by thousands—or even millions—of times, referencing the Kardashev scale, a theoretical measure of a civilization’s technological advancement.
More Models, More Money
The xAI team also teased a new AI programming model, described as “fast and smart,” expected to launch soon. Backing these efforts is a recent $10 billion capital raise, which positions xAI to aggressively challenge OpenAI.
In May, xAI also agreed in principle to bring Grok to Telegram in a $300 million deal, further expanding its AI ecosystem across platforms.
