Crypto Is No Longer Niche: Deutsche Bank to Offer BTC Custody!

According to reports, Deutsche Bank, the largest bank in Germany, intends to let its customers store cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin starting in the upcoming year. According to a Bloomberg story on Tuesday, Deutsche Bank intends to start a digital assets custody service in 2026 in partnership with the technology division of the Bitpanda cryptocurrency exchange, which is situated in Austria.
According to Bloomberg, Taurus, a Swiss technology company funded by Deutsche Bank, will also be involved in the development of the crypto custody service. Since the bank first announced similar goals in 2020, if confirmed, Deutsche Bank’s most recent intentions would be the bank’s most recent attempt to enter the cryptocurrency storage industry.

Deutsche Bank announced in 2023 that it would soon begin offering crypto custody solutions in collaboration with Taurus, after its application for a digital asset custody license in Germany. Since at least June 2024, Deutsche Bank has also collaborated with Bitpanda to enhance cryptocurrency payments at the exchange.
