BMW Partners With Coinweb and BNB Chain for Blockchain Loyalty Program

A well-known German car manufacturer BMW has partnered with BNB Chain and Coinweb to incorporate blockchain technology into its operational processes.

BMW Loyalty Program

BMW has had blockchain initiatives before. Recently, BMW has shown via twitter that it is interested in the Metaverse and NFT sectors. Now, BMW is creating a loyalty program for its Thai customers using blockchain technology. BMW will also receive consulting services from Coinweb when choosing the BNB Chain for paying transactions. The consultancy service to be received from Coinweb is divided into 2 stages.

Coinweb will automate BMW’s laborious manual financial work by offering cross-chain smart contracts. As the second stage, Coinweb will create a blockchain-based Web3 application for its customer loyalty program. With this program, Thai customers will be rewarded for their loyalty with a blockchain-based reward system. The BNB Chain will be used for all transactions to take place. Customers will earn levels, ranks and rewards according to their activities with the loyalty program. The customer loyalty program, which started in Thailand first, is expected to spread around the world in the following years. CEO Bjorn Antonsson of BMW Leasing (Thailand) said:

“We are very excited to be working with such a great team at Coinweb, and anticipate all the positive outcomes of embracing DLT into our ecosystem. We foresee this shift of manual paperwork towards immutable records on the blockchain to imminently contribute to infallible efficiency and transparency. For our long-time customers here in Thailand, we look forward to continually cultivating their loyalty while rewarding them at the same time through the blockchain-based rewards system, delivering real value to be rolled out in 2023.”

Coinweb’s CEO, Toby Gilbert, said:

“It is an honor to be piloting such an exciting project with BMW, Coinweb’s first collaboration with such a prestigious household brand. We hope that once this project is fully launched, it can be used as a benchmark to prove that traditional businesses can fully leverage blockchain technology and benefit enormously from it, without deviating from their core values and mission.”

About Coinweb

Coinweb is a Layer-2 cross-chain computing platform founded by Toby Gilbert in 2017. Coinweb has adopted the mission of correcting all the problems in blockchain technology. The platform aims for a blockchain technology that is better connected, more collaborative and accessible to everyone.
