Arkham Intelligence Claims to Crack Strategy’s Bitcoin Wallet Puzzle—Is Privacy Dead?

Arkham Intelligence – Blockchain analysis firm Arkham Intelligence recently claimed to have identified previously undisclosed Bitcoin wallet addresses tied to Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), revealing a massive additional holding of approximately 70,816 BTC, worth around $7.6 billion at current prices. This discovery potentially raises Strategy’s total identified Bitcoin holdings to an astonishing $54.5 billion.

Massive Bitcoin Holdings Revealed

Arkham’s findings suggest that nearly 87.5% of Strategy’s total Bitcoin stash has now been publicly linked to specific wallet addresses. This marks a significant step, as it would make Arkham the first entity to openly associate these wallets with the company. In a bold statement, Arkham wrote, “Saylor said he would never reveal his addresses. So, we did.” The revelation casts a new light on the scale of Strategy’s Bitcoin accumulation and raises questions about privacy in crypto asset management.

Michael Saylor Warns Against Public Wallet Disclosure

Michael Saylor, Strategy’s co-founder and executive chairman, has previously warned about the dangers of publishing wallet addresses. Speaking at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, Saylor emphasized that making wallet addresses public exposes companies to significant security risks, as “no institutional grade or enterprise security analyst would think it’s a good idea to publish all of the wallet addresses such that you can be traced back and forth.”

He further highlighted that public wallets allow continuous transaction scrutiny, which could compromise corporate security. To underline his point, Saylor suggested using artificial intelligence to analyze the security vulnerabilities linked to such disclosures, predicting it could produce “50 pages” of potential security issues.

Controversies Around Wallet Ownership Claims

While blockchain data is transparent, the accuracy of wallet ownership claims often faces scrutiny. For example, during the Mantra token collapse, Mantra CEO John Mullin accused Arkham of mislabeling wallets, disputing the claim that insiders were dumping tokens. This highlights the ongoing debate over attribution accuracy in blockchain analytics.

Awaiting Official Comments

Cointelegraph reached out to both Arkham Intelligence and Strategy for comments on the report but had not received a response at the time of publication.
