Paypal, which started to offer cryptocurrency services in the United States in 2020, is preparing to offer this service in the European market as well!

Paypal, one of the leading companies in the financial services industry, stated in a press release on December 7, 2022, that it will expand its crypto services across Europe, and said that it will open its services related to cryptocurrencies in Luxembourg in the next few days. Thanks to this service, which will start in Luxembourg, users will now be able to trade Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as buy and store digital currencies.

According to Paypal’s senior vice president and managing director of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, the Luxembourg step is an important development for platform’s mission to make digital currencies more accessible. The firm, which is in close contact with Luxembourg officials and politicians to define the future of digital currencies in international banking and trade, is committed to a collaboration.

Additionally, the company will also create FAQs and educational materials so that users can learn more about the benefits and benefits of trading with cryptocurrencies. Paypal users within the European Union can now buy, trade and store Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash for as little as €1 using their account, associated bank accounts or EU-issued debit cards.

Paypal, which started offering cryptocurrency services in the United States in 2020, moved this service to the United Kingdom in the same year. Now, it is preparing to offer this service in 26 EU countries by choosing Luxembourg as the headquarters of the EU region.
