Meteora TGE: Can MET Token Redefine Solana’s DeFi?

An extremely active phase has begun for Meteora, the top dynamic liquidity protocol on Solana. MET will be the primary token at its Token Generation Event (TGE), which is scheduled for October. Hundreds of thousands of wallets have already signed up for Meteora’s scoring system. Alongside the current system, this event is probably going to generate a new wave in the DeFi industry. But there are also a lot of risks associated with it because of sell-offs and allocation pressures. In Q4 2025, it will be a critical test of Meteora’s possible breakthrough.
Meteora to Launch MET Token in October TGE
The project has formally announced that it would organize a Token Generation Event (TGE) in October, with MET serving as its focal point. This marks a turning point for Meteora and the larger Solana ecosystem since MET will be directly integrated into the liquidity mechanisms that the project is developing. MET’s inherent value and the market’s response right after TGE will be greatly impacted by how it is included in incentive schemes, staking programs, and liquidity pools.
Season 1’s MET token allocation is determined by a points system. About 327.7 billion points (2024) were dispersed among 328,976 wallets, according to the data. In addition, 287,687 wallets together received 565.3 billion points (2025). Across 24,929 wallets, the launch pool dispersed 307.7 billion points.
Will Meteora’s MET Token Face Sell Pressure at TGE?
This distribution reveals a notable disparity in focus. Only roughly 25,000 wallets in the launch pool received a disproportionately significant amount of the points, despite hundreds of thousands of wallets receiving points via routine activity. Specifically, the “Airdrop Claim” mechanism, which enables users to retrieve tokens straight from the pool, can speed up liquidity but, if not properly managed, could also leave the market vulnerable to abrupt price swings.
Higher reward concentration and the possibility of strong sell pressure as soon as Meteora‘s TGE happens are the results of this. The complete specifics of MET’s tokenomics have not yet been formally revealed, nevertheless. Schedules for team vesting, community allocation, and overall supply distribution are among the lacking data.
